Civil and Structural Engineer (2020-76260)

This is a permanent position based on a client site on the South Coast of England, and requires demonstrable experience in a similar EPC role within the Pharmaceutical Industry.
Definition and approval of technical scopes
Execute structural discipline engineering assigned scopes of work within budget and schedule
Supporting and supervising task delegation to the team
Provide technical expertise to the business
Execute engineering activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study & Detailed Design)
Provide input to the performance management of direct reports.
Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract
Deputizing for Principal Engineer as required.
Provide coaching and mentoring for direct reports.
Maintain the required technical quality of work by adhering to and complying with relevant discipline specific Procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement
Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process
Ensure that designs comply with the relevant procedures and regulations by keeping up to date with relevant regulatory framework and legislation.
Executing of assigned personal objectives.
Keep up to date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to discipline work scope
Assist in the preparation of estimates and schedules and assist in their review
Prepare for and carry out visit sites when necessary
Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development.
Encourage and provide lateral learning within the project
Participate in audits and investigations as required
Skills / Qualifications
MSc, MEng or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject is essential
Chartered Engineer and member of appropriate engineering institution is desirable
Experience of building design and related software is essential.
Demonstrable balance of industrial experience at relevant level and position.
Experienced in the use of appropriate codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation
Intellectually capable, can substantiate the ability to apply theory in a practical context
Good Professional demeanor and interpersonal skills
Able to work with other disciplines and demonstrate team working skills.
Enthusiastic, conscientious and keen to learn.
